장터 - 필자를 향해 손 흔드는 주민을 찾아 보세요

여행을 계획하면서 항상 곁에 두는 것은 막연한 기대감이고 나설 때 같이하는 것은 설레임이다.

길지 않은 길에 모든 일정을 즉흥으로 짤 수는 없지만 하나나 둘 쯤은 슬쩍 빠뜨려 보는 것도 좋겠다. 아니라도 초행길에 그런 상황은 마주하기 마련..
 
예전 남프랑스 어느 시골마을에서 우연히 마주친 장터... 잘못 든 일방통행과, 경찰의 돌아가라는 말에 무념이 떠나고 보니 남겨둔 아쉬움이 너무 컸었다.
 
걸음걸음에 인도인지 찻길인지 구분도 쉽지 않은, 사실 구분이 무슨 의미가 있을지 싶은 자그마한 마을을 걷다 보니 장터라 부르기에도 너무 소박한... 오히려 동네 야유회 분위기의 환하게 맞고 보내주신 그분들의 미소 곁에 섰다.

서로 하는 말은 달랐으나 통하지 않는 것은 없었다.
어쩌면 아쉬웠을 여행의 한 편을 채워준 백미였다.

 p.s. 주민이 직접 구워 건네는 파(깔솟)를 양념에 찍어 먹으면 쵝오!! Wow~ 와인은 덤!!!~~

When planning a trip, the thing that I always keep by my side is a vague sense of anticipation, and the thing that I feel when actually setting out is excitement.

You can't plan every detail of a short trip on a whim, but it's also nice to miss out on one or two things. Even if not, you're bound to come across situations like that on a new journey anyway.

In a small countryside village in southern France I stumbled upon by chance, there was a marketplace... It was too modest to even be called a marketplace, with streets that were difficult to distinguish as either sidewalks or tea paths... Nonetheless, standing next to the smiles of the locals who kindly welcomed me, it was a bright and happy atmosphere.

Even though we spoke different languages, there was nothing that we couldn't understand from each other.

Perhaps it was the highlight of a trip that might have been disappointing otherwise.

P.S. When you dip the freshly baked pah (kalssot) that the locals personally grill and offer in seasoning, it's awesome!! Wow~ And the wine is a bonus!!!~~
